McDonald's fans 'gutted' as bagels and breakfast wraps are REMOVED from menu

What?!?!

It's safe to say the breakfast menu at fast food chain McDonald's is certainly top notch, with the likes of scrumptious breakfast wraps and bagels very popular in the UK with customers...

That was until now! We have some absolutely devastating news for fans of the pre 11am menu, as bosses have today (Monday 24th January) announced some very debatable changes to their breakfast menu.

In a shake-up customers just can't simply understand, both breakfast wraps and bagels have been REMOVED from the menu, leaving fans gutted.

The news was announced on social media, with a tongue-and-cheek 'break up' statement. It reads: 'It is with love and deep respect for one another that we announce that we are parting ways with Breakfast Bagels & Breakfast Wraps.

'Despite speculation and following a trial separation period, Breakfast Bagels & Breakfast Wraps will not be returning to the menu. We adore each other deeply but our love for the iconic McMuffin was simply too hard to ignore.

'We want our fans to know this is a mutual decision, to the extent that a bagel can make its own decision.

'Thank you to everyone who has supported our union. As for the rumours that there will be a new breakfast bae on the scene later this year... no comment. But it's now time to say, 'that's a wrap'. And bagel. And that the McMuffin is 99p today.' (sic)

It wasn't long before loyal McDonald's customers were quick to comment on the post, strongly disagreeing with the decision.

Pop star Olly Murs wrote: 'Devastated', with a fan writing: 'This is the actual worst decision you’ve ever made. Sausage egg and cheese bagels were officially the best thing on your menu'. (sic)

Another wrote: 'All you have on the breakfast menu now is McMuffins, Rolls, Pancakes. Not enough variety. All mcdoanlds fans are devastated, and in any business the customer always comes first because at the end of the day the customer is always right.' (sic)

Not a popular decision it seems! 🤔

The McDonald's breakfast menu, which runs between 5am-11am every day, now includes breakfast rolls, McMuffins, flatbreads, hash browns and pancakes. You see the full menu right here.

Check out all of the food and drink that bring back memories from school:

Cornflake cake

A staple of the school kitchen! If you fancy making your own cornflake cake, just like this yummy one in the photo, check out this amazing recipe from The Spelt Kitchen.

Turkey Twizzlers

Turkey Twizzlers were basically on the menu every day until 2005, when they were banned from schools following a healthy eating campaign by top chef Jamie Oliver.

The tasty treats recently made a comeback though, albeit with a lot less fat, additives and flavourings!

Angel Delight

It really was the simple things in life that got us through Maths with our least favourite teacher...

Turkey dinosaurs

Always a favourite when they landed on the school menu, turkey dinosaurs were basically in the same God Tier as turkey twizzlers.

Baked Beans

Beans and chips, beans and nuggets, beans and fish fingers, anything with beans was a winning school meal in our eyes!

Lumpy mash

It was served with basically every meal, but nobody was complaining after it had been drowned in gravy.

Rice pudding

A classic still to this day.

Cartons of Milk

Whether you had cartons or glass bottles, there was nothing better than a slug of milk during break time!

Sprinkle cake

It was hard around the edges and dry in the middle, but there was something about sprinkle cake at school, lathered in custard of course.

Smiley potato faces

They cheered up our plates and will always have a place in our culinary hearts.

Jelly

All together now: "Jelly on a plate, jelly on a plate, wibble wobble, wibble wobble, jelly on a plate"

Syrup sponge

Syrup sponge and custard, was there even a nicer dessert?

Pizza slices

You couldn't beat a pizza slice on your lunch break... Even if it only had 2 slices of pepperoni on!

Caramel Shortcake

These treats weren't on offer often, but when they did come it was always a race to get one before they'd gone!

BRB, just going to dream about bagels and breakfast wraps! 😭
