Woman and teenager killed in crash in Oldham
Greater Manchester Police are looking into what happened in Ripponden Road yesterday afternoon
A woman and a teenager have died in a crash in Oldham.
Greater Manchester Police and other emergency services were called to reports of a collision in Ripponden Road at around 4pm on Saturday.
The force said a 42-year-old woman and a 15-year-old child travelling in one of the vehicles died at the scene.
A 13-year-old child also suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
A 35-year-old driver, the sole occupant of the second vehicle, was arrested at the scene and remains in police custody.
GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now appealing for anyone who may have seen the car, described as a Black BMW X5, or the collision in the Ripponden Road area of Oldham, at around 4pm yesterday afternoon (23/12/2023) to get in touch to help officers their investigation.
Officers are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have footage, including dashcam, mobile phone or CCTV/doorbell footage from the area in the moments before the collision took place.
