Two hurt in Manchester shooting
Police say their injuries are not life-threatening or changing
Two people have been taken to hospital after a shooting in Manchester.
Police were sent to the Moss Side area at around 10.50pm last night (10th August) to reports two people had received gunshot injuries.
They were taken to hospital, where they are being treated for injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening or changing.
No arrests have yet been made.
Detective Superintendent Matt Walker, from Greater Manchester Police, said: "We are working hard to ensure a full and thorough investigation that uncovers exactly what occurred during this incident. Thankfully, the victims’ injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, but there could have been worse consequences to this act.
"While the investigation is very much in its early days, we are using all available resources to establish the full circumstances. We are committed to keeping the community safe and our response has already seen further officers deployed to the area for the reassurance of local residents. They will be more than happy to talk to you about any concerns you may have.
"I want people who live in the area to know that we will never tolerate such acts in our city, and we will be doing all we can to investigate all of its aspects. We will continue to provide a strong policing presence over the rest of the weekend and into the coming days, utilising all the appropriate resources we have."
