Man injured in Derbyshire explosion dies in hospital

A pensioner who was injured in an explosion at a house explosion in Derbyshire has died in hospital.
78 year old Nigel Barrow was airlifted to hospital after the blast took place at his home in the New Mills area on Tuesday.
The cause of the explosion has not yet been confirmed, but gas safety experts did work at the scene and at nearby homes for a time.
A Derbyshire Police spokesperson said:
"Emergency services were called to Ollersett Avenue just after 8am on Tuesday 14 November to reports of an explosion.
"Seventy-eight-year-old Nigel Barrow suffered life-threatening injuries during the incident and was taken to hospital where he died yesterday.
"His family are aware and are being supported by officers.
"An investigation is ongoing into the cause of the explosion, however, due to the damage caused to the property this has yet to be completed. A further review of the scene will take place early next week."
