A 14-year-old boy has become the 10th person arrested in connection with the killing of two boys in Bristol last weekend.

Avon and Somerset Police say the boy has been detained this evening (2 February) and is being questioned on suspicion of murder, following the stabbings of Mason Rist (15) and Max Dixon (16) on Ilminster Avenue in Knowle West last Saturday night (27 January).

To date five people have been charged with offences in connection with their deaths.

Anthony Snook (44) from Hartcliffe, plus a 15 and 16 year old boy we cannot name for legal reasons, have all been charged with murder.

Meanwhile two men, Bailey Westcott, 22, from Bishopsworth, and Jamie Ogbourne, aged 26, from Bristol are both charged with two counts of assisting an offender.

"We have updated the families of Mason and Max this evening of the latest arrest and specially-trained officers continue to provide them with support," a statement from Avon and Somerset Police reads.

"We would remind people not to post footage, images or speculation regarding this case as court proceedings are underway which we do not want to be jeopardise nor do we want anyone to cause further distress to Mason and Max’s family at this incredibly difficult time."

The news of this latest arrest came as Bristol City Football Club hosted Leeds United at Ashton Gate.

Fans of both sides took part in two minutes of applause in the first half in memory of Mason and Max.

A 17-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of murder on Thursday remains in police custody.

A 42-year-old woman previously arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder, has been released on conditional bail.
