Essex Police have charged a man with threats to kill, following the death of a woman in the town of Basildon.

Officers first received word of a woman from the area who required medical attention last Sunday (March 10th), after she was admitted to hospital in London after being found unconscious at a house in Elsenham Crescent.

When responders arrived at the hospital in London, medical professionals had described her injuries as "life-threatening".

After around five days of intensive care from doctors, sadly there was little else that could be done and she sadly passed away on Thursday (March 14th).

The altercation took place on Elensham Crescent in Basildon last Sunday

Following her death, Essex Police launched an investigation into her passing and arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of murder.

Thanks to their investigations and enquiries, officers were able to charge the 32-year-old, named as Joshua Robinson, of no fixed abode, with threats to kill and engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour.

Robinson is set to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on Monday (March 18th) in connection with the incident and currently remains in police custody.

However, the investigation is still ongoing and the force are still keen to speak to anyone who may have any potential leads on the incident whilst officers try to piece together the events leading up to being admitted to hospital.

Anyone who has any potential information or footage is being urged to get in touch as soon as possible with Essex Police on 101. Alternatively, people can use the digital 101 service,
