World Grand Prix: Pistol beats Trump in thrilling final
Mark Allen is the new World Grand Prix champion.
The Antrim star picked up the coveted trophy plus £100,000 in prizemoney after a quite remarkable end to the final in Cheltenham.
At one stage Allen was 7-2 ahead of Masters champion Judd Trump but somehow managed to squander that lead.
Trump piled on the pressure taking seven of the next nine frames before 36-year-old Allen eventually edged to a 10-9 victory.
It has been some season for the Pistol who won the UK Championship in November and also picked up the Northern Ireland Open title.
In turn he became the 10th player in history to win three ranking titles in a season.
