Northern Ireland host England tonight (Tuesday) in a World Cup qualification game.

Kenny Shiels' side take on the Lionesses in front of a sold-out Windsor Park.

They go into the game on the back of a 3-1 defeat to Austria which leaves them with a mountain to climb if they are to secure a play-off spot in Group D.

Meanwhile, their opponents lead the group by five points and are clear favourites to progress to the 2023 finals.

Shiels says his players will give it their all.

"We will find it difficult to exploit certain areas of the pitch but we will do our best in a way in which we can get into good profitable parts of the pitch rather than sitting back an defending," he said.

Shiels also paid tribute to the fans who are expected to come out in their thousands tonight.

"It makes us feel good about ourselves because they're there to follow us and we really feel indebted to them for what they do behind the scenes and trying to help us help the players," he said.

The game kicks off at the National Stadium at Windsor Park at 7.55pm.
