Linfield forward Jordan Stewart has revealed he would consider a return to full-time football in England – despite his unhappy spell with Swindon Town.

He was speaking on our BetMcLean New Year show in partnership with NIFL, available to view on Cool FM’s Facebook page (see link below) and to download as a podcast.

The 23-year-old spent a short disappointing stint with the then League One side in 2015.

Stewart has been in superb form of late for the Blues following a shaky start which saw him transfer-listed.

Now, he is on top of his game, banging in the goals and thoroughly enjoying life at Windsor.

“Obviously I was out of the team at the start of the year and transfer-listed,” he tells us.

“I wasn’t really enjoying my football but I knuckled down, I worked hard in training – I knew that if the opportunity came I always knew I was good enough to play I just needed a run of games.”

And with regard to a move back to England, Stewart says:

“I have a lot more responsibilities now in my life.

“I’ve just become a father.

“But the opportunities did arise I would definitely love to go back – I think it’s maybe passed me by now.

“But you never know – football is a funny game …”

Also on this week’s show is Institute manager Paddy McLaughlin.
