URC: Ulster clash in Edinburgh called off
Last updated 3rd Oct 2025
Ulster's URC fixture away to Edinburgh - scheduled for this evening - has been postponed due to Storm Amy.
The tie at the Hive Stadium, originally due to kick-off at 8.05pm on Friday night, was brought forward to a 7pm start yesterday, with high winds and heavy rain expected.
However, in a statement released this morning from the United Rugby Championship, the postponment was confirmed.
"The BKT United Rugby Championship Round 2 fixture between Edinburgh Rugby and Ulster Rugby has been postponed," the statement read.
"Due to worsening weather conditions across Scotland overnight from Storm Amy, the fixture which was due to take place this evening, Friday October 3 in Edinburgh will now be postponed to a later date.
"The BKT URC will now consider available dates with broadcasters and both clubs to reschedule the game."
Ulster have urged supporters who have already travelled to Scotland to stay safe.
"Ulster supporters who have travelled to Edinburgh this weekend, please take care and stay safe on your journey home," the club said.
"We will share further details from the URC once the rescheduled fixture has been confirmed."
Ulster were aiming to build on last Friday night's opening day 47-17 win at home to Dragons. They'll now have a free weekend, before hosting the Vodacom Bulls at the Affidea Stadium on Saturday, October 11th.
