Ulster sitting pretty after Zebre mauling
Biggest-ever points win for Les Kiss's battling side
Ulster are now in a PRO12 play-off spot after a thumping 10-try 68-21 win over Zebre.
A packed Kingspan was treated to a superb display by the locals.
It was Ulster’s biggest-ever points win.
Director of Rugby Les Kiss says his players deserved the win after working hard over the last few weeks.
“I think the boys should take a lot of credit,” he told Downtown & Cool FM.
“About seven or eight weeks, we stripped the game back down and worked on the basics.
“We made a commitment to get those things right.”
Ulster now sit in fourth spot but Kiss is under no illusions about the task ahead.
He said: “It’s going to be super tight.
“It’s going to be a massive challenge for everyone – it’s going to be a tough run.”
Luke Marshall and Charles Piutau grabbed two tries apiece with Ruan Pienaar, Jacob Stockdale, Craig Gilroy, John Andrew, man-of-the-match Stuart Olding and Paul Marshall also on the scoresheet.
But the win may have come at a cost with injuries both to Tommy Bowe and Marcell Coetzee.
