Ireland came close to a shock win over the world's number one international cricket side, India, in Malahide yesterday (Tuesday).

However, despite their fine all-round efforts, they were denied a first-ever victory over the visitors, with India winning by four runs - to take the series, 2-0.

Andrew Balbirnie, with 60 runs, Paul Sterling, who hit 40 and Harry Tector (pictured) with 39 runs were among the stars of the show for the hosts.
