Northern Ireland's Jordan Brown is a step closer to winning his first ranking title since 2021.

That' after he booked his place in the semi-finals of the International Championship in China earlier this morning. The Antrim man edged out Scotland's Stephen Maguire 6-5 with a final frame victory.

The World number 43 took the opening frame before going 2-1 behind. However, Brown took the next four frames to race into a 5-2 lead against World number 30 Maguire.

That only seemed to spur the Scot into action though as he battled back to level it a five apiece before Brown secured victory in frame 11.

He'll now take on England's Tom Ford tomorrow morning (UK time) for a place in the final. Twentieth-ranked Ford got the better of fellow countryman Barry Hawkins 6-4.

The other half of the draw sees Ronnie O'Sullivan take on Ali Carter shortly. The winner of that will play whoever comes out on top between local favourites Ding Junhui and Zhang Anda.

Should Brown go all the way in Asia, it would be his first win since he bet O'Sullivan in the final of the Welsh Open two years ago.
