SNOOKER: Antrim's Brown beats O'Sullivan to win Welsh Open
Northern Ireland's Jordan Brown is the new Welsh Open champion.
The 33-year-old beat superstar Ronnie O'Sullivan 9-8 in a tense final last night in Newport.
It was Brown's biggest-ever win and pay day. He picked up a cheque for £70,000 along with the coveted Ray Reardon trophy .
In doing so, the 'Antrim Ferrari' became the lowest-ranked player since Dave Harold won the Asia Open in 1993.
He is also the first player from Northern Ireland to win the title.
Afterwards, he said he was delighted to have won and described facing O'Sullivan in the final as a "privilege".
