Snooker: Allen sweeps into UK Championship last eight
Mark Allen came from two frames down to book his place in the quarter-finals of the UK Championship snooker last night.
The Antrim man had to come from 2-0 down against World number seven Kyren Wilson, before eventually taking a 6-3 victory at York's Barbican.
After a fine year, which saw him win the Northern Ireland Open, the 36-year-old, currently ranked ninth in the world, will look to secure a semi-final spot when he takes on England's Sam Craigie in the last eight tomorrow.
Craigie, 28, reached his first quarter-final at a ranking event with a 6-4 victory over Wales' Ryan Day.
In the other half of the draw, Ronnie O'Sullivan cruised into the quarters with a 6-0 whitewash of China's Zhou Yuelong, while England's Tom Ford beat Belgium's Luca Brecel.
