Both Northern Ireland and the Republic now know whom their possible opponents in the World Cup qualifying play-offs.

That is after the final group of games last night which saw Portugal and France progress automatically to the finals in the Russia.

It leaves Italy, Denmark, Croatia and Switzerland taking the four seeded play-off places.

And when the draw is made on Tuesday, Northern Ireland and the Republic will each meet one of them in two-legged ties next month.

Michael O’Neill and Republic boss Martin O’Neill have already said they will go into their play-offs in confident mood
