Ulster's push for a PRO14 playoff spot remains on track after they beat Southern Kings in a 33-19 bonus-point win at Kingspan.

An 8th minute Stuart McCloskey try opened the scoring, the centre powering over in the corner with a couple of Kings defenders completely unable to bring him down.

By the 15th minute, they'd scored again with replacement Michael Lowry settling right into the game, breaking the line before releasing Rob Lyttle to score in the corner.

However, the Kings are known for being somewhat unpredictable, and suddenly hit back with 2 quickfire tries through Yaw Pexne's raw pace, and then Ulrich Beyer touched down with the home defence merely spectators, seemingly waiting for play to be called back for a knock-on.

With 35 minutes on the clock, Ulster's nerves seemed to have settled when Marcell Coetzee drove over to score from close range to end the Kings' flurry of activity.

The province looked like they were finally beginning to pull away in the 49th minute, whipping the ball wide through the hands, freeing up Robert Baloucoune to cross in the corner to secure the bonus point.

However, this prompted an extended period of Kings pressure that ended with a 64th minute try for hooker Michael Willemse.

The Kings again lived up their unpredictable reputation as they ended their own period of dominance when Tertius Kruger was shown a red card for driving a shoulder into the head of Baloucoune, with van Rooyen shown yellow for a high tackle on John Cooney.

Ulster made the numerical advantage pay 4 minutes from time with replacement hooker John Andrew touching down from the back of a maul to round off the win.
