Ulster recorded a third consecutive victory as they came from behind to beat Zebre at a rainswept Kingspan.

They had to find a way back into the game after making a disastrous start, conceding just 90 seconds after kickoff.

Zebre quickly worked their way up the pitch before Mattia Bellini was found with a neat inside pass to dot down under the posts and give Carlos Canna an easy conversion.

It took until the 21st minute for Ulster to reply with a try through Dave Shanahan.

Marcell Coetzee offloaded well to find Luke Marshall, and the center powered into space before releasing the scrum half to run in unopposed for a score beneath the sticks.

Bill Johnston added the extras, and then put the province into the lead for the first time with a 34th minute penalty.

11 minutes after the break, Zebre failed to deal with Ulster's maul, pulling it down to concede a penalty try that saw the home side open up a 10-point lead.

Former Ulsterman Ian Nagle was deemed to be the guilty party and shown a yellow card in a double blow for the visitors.

No sooner had he returned to the field than Giovanni Licata was then sin-binned for repeated infringements at the maul while Ulster were camped in the Zebre 22.

This time, Ulster made the numbers count right away as Johnston's cross-field kick found Rob Lyttle in acres of space out wide, and the winger easily collected the ball and dived in for the third try of the night to settle the game in in the 70th minute.
