Novo goal gives Glens back-to back wins  

Glentoran picked up their second successive win in the Danske Bank Premiership last night  – and moved up to seventh in the table as a result.

Former Rangers ace Nacho Novo’s tap-in was enough to secure all three points against struggling Carrick.

They remain second from bottom with a 14-point cushion over Portadown and, crucially, now eight points behind Ballinmallard.

Meanwhile, is the business end of the Danske Bank Premiership with points vital at both ends of the table.

And there are five league games today.

Crusaders lead the way and will be hoping to continue putting clear daylight between themselves and nearest challengers Linfield.

But Stephen Baxter’s men have a tricky away tie later when they travel to the Showgrounds to meet Coleraine who are flying in the league at the moment.

Elsewhere, the Blues are away to Ballinamallard while Cliftonville take on Ballymena United at Solitude.

Ards play Glenavon and the league’s all but relegated side Portadown are at home to Dungannon Swifts. All games kick off today at 3pm.
