Northern Ireland are in Frankfurt for their final Euro qualifying game tonight (Tuesday) against Germany.

The game is a dead rubber with automatic progression to the tournament already beyond them.

However O'Neill wants his team to put in a good performance as they look to the play-offs in March as an alternative route to next summer's finals.

"It is very important to finish on a high note," he said. "But this is possibly as difficult a place to come to, to get that high note.

"But I think in all the games we have acquitted ourselves very well.

"We would hope for something similar and we would hope to obviously try and take something from the game."

After tonight's game, it is on to the play-offs draw in Nyon on Friday.

Possible opponents for Northern Ireland are Bosnia.

Whether they are at home or away for that match well depend on the result later between Wales and Hungary.
