Newry City have won the Mid-Ulster Cup.

Darren Mullen's side beat derby rivals Dungannon Swifts 2-0 in last night's (Tuesday) final at Stangmore Park.

Goals from James Teelan and Thomas Lockhart sealed the win.

It was the first Mid-Ulster Cup win for Mullen as Newry boss.

And after the game he said winning any piece of silverware was a huge boost for the club.

"It is the first time we've won it," he said. "It's great - 10 years now being beaten in finals and semi-finals, so it was great to win it.

"It's one of those where you do have a realistic chance of winning - it's difficult to win the others."

Elsewhere, Championship side Ballinamallard United beat a young Coleraine team 4-1 to lift the North-West Cup.
