Players Championship: Allen wins trophy after marathon final
Antrim star beats Zhang Anda 10-8
Antrim star Mark Allen has won the Players Championship.
He beat Zhang Anda 10-8 in a marathon final which lasted more than seven hours at the Telford International Centre.
In doing so he picked up a first prize of ÂŁ125,000.
It was the Pistol's 11th ranking title of his career and his third big win this season.
However, it did not go to plan for him at the beginning of this incredible encounter.
Allen was three frames down before levelling the scores.
From then it was nip and tuck - with the World Number 3 digging deep to seal the win.
