Lee Bonis: striker signs new deal to stay at Larne
One of the Irish Premiership's most sought-after young talents, Lee Bonis, is staying with Larne.
It was reported a number of clubs across the water were interested in securing the 23-year-old but he has now penned a new three-year deal at Inver Park.
The signing is a huge boost for Tiernan Lynch's side as they head into their first Champions League campaign, kicking off with Wednesday’s trip to HJK Helsinki.
Bonis' form for the club, where he has been for the last 18 months, was rewarded when he was called up to the senior Northern Ireland squad for the first time in June’s European qualifiers, after finishing as the club’s top goalscorer in last year’s historic campaign.
Meanwhile Andy Ryan has also signed a new deal.
Speaking on the club's website, Lynch said: " We are delighted to see both players commit their futures to the club.
“As a club, the transfer window give us the opportunity to strengthen our squad as we bring new players in, which we’ve done and will continue to do where possible. However, it also gives us a chance to take stock with players already at the club.
“Andy and Lee have been in fantastic form and we were keen to sit down them this summer to see if they were open to extend their time at the club.
“Both players have really enjoyed their time here and it was a very straight forward conversation which led to them both putting pen to paper, either side of the weekend."
