For Oran Kearney and his young Coleraine side, the new Irish League campaign could not have gone any better…

The Bannsiders currently top the Danske Bank Premiership on maximum points from six games.

It has been their best-ever beginning to a top-flight season.

But despite the dream start Kearney says they will not be getting carried away – and it would be crazy for anyone to tip his team to go on and win the title.

Speaking exclusively to Cool FM on our latest Danske Bank Premiership show, he says it is far too early for that sort of talk.

“We have played 15% of the league – we have 85% to go,” he told us.

“And for people to be sitting talking about who is going to win it – whether that be Crusaders, Glenavon, Linfield or whoever it may be. I think it is a bit crazy for this time of the season, to be honest.”

Coleraine will be hoping to extend their amazing run when they take on Carrick tomorrow.

They are three points clear of next-placed Crusaders.

Kearney says he is not feeling any pressure unlike previous seasons and that they are “embracing” their superb start.

“At one time it took us about eight games to go to secure a place in the league and that’s pressure, absolutely pressure and where we are at at the minute I think is the opposite,” he said.

“It is one of enjoyment and that’s what we want to keep doing.”

Also guesting on tonight’s show is Crusaders midfielder Declan Caddell.

He talks about life at Seaview and working under manager Stephen Baxter – plus what went wrong in their bid to retain the league title last season.

As usual, Cool FM's Pete Snodden poses the questions along with football writer Steven Beacom.

The Danske Bank Premiership show can be viewed on Cool FM Facebook from 6pm
