James McCartan: Down manager steps down
Down are looking for a new senior football manager - after James McCartan stepped down from the role.
It was his second spell at the helm with this one lasting just eight months.
Earlier this year, the Mourne men suffered relegation to Division Three.
In his previous stint, McCartan guided his native county to the All-Ireland final of 2010.
In a statement on their website, Down GAA said: " Down GAA wish to place on record our gratitude to James, Aidan O'Rourke, Ronan McMahon and the entire coaching and backroom team for their work during the 2022 season.
"James McCartan will always be regarded as an iconic figure of Down football. He has given outstanding service to his county as a player and manager, and we wish him well. "
