Jordan Owens scored a brace as Crusaders booked their Bet McLean League Cup last-four spot with a 4-2 comeback win over Glentoran at the Oval.

The home side took a 6th minute lead through Robbie McDaid, who was ideally placed to tap into a empty net after Connor Pepper's header came back off the post.

Crusaders grabbed a 20th minute equaliser after Gary Thompson drove down the right and worked his way into the box. He hammered the ball across goal, where it was palmed out by Elliott Morris, straight to Owens who finished from close range.

8 minutes later, Glentoran were back in control as Curtis Allen played a smart one-two with McDaid, collecting his perfect pass to run in behind the Crusaders defence and finish past Harry Doherty at his near post.

Crusaders midfielder Philip Lowry had the ball in the net with 59 minutes played, but it was correctly ruled out for offside.

However, just one minute later David Cushley collected a long ball forward, turned Calum Birney inside the box, and then drove a hopeful right-footed shot beneath Morris to haul his side level.

That goal gave the visitors the momentum, and with 64 mintues on the clock they took the lead for the first time at the Oval. Cushley whipped a corner in from the left, and Owens planted a header into the top corner to score his second of the night.

It was a goal that killed much of the fight in the Glens, and Crues substitute Paul Heatley made sure of the result in the 85th minute, searing away from a tiring defence to calmly slot the ball beyond Morris.
