Glens face Bannsiders in Oval Cup showdown
Linfield take on Institute and Newry place Portadown
Glentoran take on Coleraine tonight (Tuesday) at the Oval for a place in the BetMcLean League Cup quarter finals.
But in an interview with Downtown & Cool FM, Bannsiders boss Rodney McAree said they would have their work cut out.
“They’re improved – they’ve made good signings – they’ve got personnel in and around them – but it is one we are looking forward to,” he said.
The winners will play Crusaders in the last eight.
Meanwhile, two other third round games are taking place later with Linfield meeting Institute and Newry hosting Portadown.
The Ports are a side Newry boss Darren Mullen knows well.
“I expect they will pushing hard for promotion this year – we had some really good games against them last year,” he said. “I expect it to be a tight affair.
“They are coming now as a Championship team against a Premiership team and we need to be ready for them.”
And the kick off on all of the games is 7.45pm.
