On Wednesday, St Columb’s College will meet St Louis Grammar in the 2022 Danske Bank Schools’ Cup final.

Coleraine Showgrounds will host this one, with kick-off at 12:30pm.

The U18 schools from Londonderry and Ballymena booked their places in the decider after winning their respective semi-finals at Mill Meadow in Castledawson last month.

Speaking ahead of the final, Shaun O'Callaghan from St Louis Grammar said the journey to now has been "unreal".

"At the start of the year we probably didn't think we would get this far but it's just been an unreal journey so far," he said.

"To win it at the end would be unreal for the boys."

St Columb's star man Corey McLaughlin feels he has big shoes to fill,

"Boys a good few years above me won six (School's Cup Finals) in a row and it's always something you want to go on and do," he said.

"We all just love playing football together and we have done since second year."

St Columb’s defeated Laurelhill in what was the first of the two semi-finals staged at the home of Moyola Park FC.

Goals from Cormac Bradley, Joe Curran, Liam Mullan and Keenan McLaren secured a comfortable 4-1 win.

St Louis went toe-to-toe with Ashfield Boys High in a tightly contested affair.

The only goal of the game came with five minutes to go. St Louis won the ball in their own half and broke at pace.

The ball was eventually came to man of the match Dara Martin who made sure the school confirmed their third final spot in six years.
