Holders Dungannon Swifts needed extra time to keep their BetMcLean League Cup campaign still on track.

A late Seanan Clucas strike gave the Swifts a 3-2 win over Warrenpoint – and a place in the quarter finals.

It was Kris Lindsay’s first victory since taking over from Rodney McAree in the Swifts’ managerial hot-seat.

Elsewhere, Crusaders survived a scare at Seaview as Ballinamallard came close to causing an upset.

Stephen Baxter’s side had to come from behind to see off the Championship strugglers 2-1.

And a late Joe Gormley winner at Solitude helped Cliftonville book their place in the quarters.

Barry Gray’s side side beat Carrick Rangers 3-2.

Meanwhile, Ballymena made hard work of their game with Harland and Wolff Welders and they needed a Jude Winchester goal to see off the Championship side 1-0.

Finally, Ards beat Dergview 4-1.
