Crusaders got back to winning ways as they edged past Dungannon Swifts by a single goal at Seaview in the Danske Bank Premiership.

The home side took control of the game in the early stages, with Jordan Forsythe getting in front of goalkeeper Alex Moore to head home David Cushley's corner from the right in the 9th minute.

Paul Heatley then skipped past a couple of defenders before finding the net with a smart 22nd minute finish, but the linesman incorrectly ruled that he was offside as he collected Cushley's pass.

It took until the 2nd half for the Swifts to finally threaten as Daniel Hughes drew a save from Harry Doherty with a 66th minute effort from 20 yards.

The Crues came close to getting a second, first through Paul Heatley, and then Billy Joe Burns from distance, with neither able to beat Alex Moore.

As the game drew to a close in miserable conditions in North Belfast, Heatley had another couple of quickfire chances, but was denied twice at the near post on 84.

However, the Swifts still posed a danger, and with 85 played Hughes shot from the angle, and when Doherty spilled the ball, he was lucky to look up and see that it fell to BJ Burns, rather than the 2 men waiting in blue shirts.

It was as close as the visitors came in their search for an equaliser, with the Crues holding on for the points.
