And Ballymena take final post-split place after Shevlin double
Paul Heatley helped fire Crusaders back to the top of the Danske Bank Premiership last night.
The winger bagged a hat-trick in his side’s 4-1 win at Warrenpoint – to leave the Crues in the driving seat, two points ahead of Coleraine with five games to play.
Darren Murray completed the scoring for Stephen Baxter’s side with TJ Murray getting a late consolation goal for the Point.
In the only other game of the night, Ballymena pipped Glentoran to seal sixth place going into the league split – after a 2-0 win over Ballinamallard who remain firmly rooted at the bottom of the table.
Matthew Shevlin grabbed both goals for David Jeffrey’s side.
So, the top six teams are Crusaders, Coleraine, Glenavon, Linfield, Cliftonville and Ballymena.
