The Belfast Giants produced a real statement of intent last night (Wednesday) as they beat the Guildford Flames 4-0 in the away leg of their Challenge Cup semi-final.

Adam Keefe's side were on the front foot from the start - with captain David Goodwin opening the scoring just after nine minutes.

Scott Conway soon doubled the lead with further goals from Mark Cooper and Gabe Bast completing the rout.

The two sides meet again on Wednesday for the second leg at the SSE Arena in Belfast.

Next up for the Giants, though, is a trip to the Cardiff Devils (Friday, 7:30pm) and Nottingham Panthers (Saturday, 7:00pm)
