Burns given nod to join NI squads
Call-up for Republic and Austria games for Hearts teen
Bobby Burns has earned his first senior Northern Ireland call-up.
The Hearts teenager, now on loan with Livingstone, joins the squads for Thursday’s friendly in Dublin with the Republic and the Nations League game with Austria on Sunday.
Burns (19) who is pictured below (second right) played the full 90 minutes in his side’s scoreless draw with Celtic yesterday.
The former Glenavon midfielder has already played for NI's U-21 side but never been part of the senior squad.
Meanwhile, striker Kyle Lafferty who returns to Michael O’Neil’s squad, came off the bench for Rangers but could not find the net in their 7-1 hammering of Stephen Robinson’s Motherwell.
