Brendan Rodgers says Northern Ireland will always have a special place in his heart.

The Celtic boss, who was in Belfast last night to launch his new book, ‘The Road To Paradise’, believes an important part of his role is to represent the country.

Speaking to Downtown & Cool FM, the Carnlough man said: “I love coming home.

“The support I have always had from Northern Ireland has been absolutely brilliant whatever club I have been at.

“I have always seen my job to represent the country as well, to try and be a positive influence through sport and through charity to obviously do the country proud as well.”

Some of the proceeds from every copy of the book sold will go towards the NI Hospice and children’s hospices across Scotland
