Belfast marathon: All you need to know

WHEN? May day, Monday, May, 1, 9am.

WHERE? The 2017 marathon, eight-mile walk, team relay, wheelchair race and fun run will follow the same route as 2016, starting at the Belfast City Hall and finishing at Ormeau Park.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT? This year sees around 17,500 participants, running packs will be available from Race Expo @Podium 4 Sport on Sunday, April 30 from 12noon-5pm.

WHAT ABOUT TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS? A free park n ride facility will be available from Ormeau Avenue and Cromac Street carparks to the finish line in Ormeau Park from 10am-4pm.

WHAT ABOUT ROAD CLOSURES? Roads around City Hall will be closed between 6.30am-10am, disruption is expected on the Albertbridge Road, Holywood Road and Sydenham Bypass until 11 am.

WHERE CAN I WATCH THE RUNNERS? There will be a family fun day including a fun fair and food vendors at Ormeau Park. There are also spectator spots along the route. See marathon website for details.
