Yellow weather warning issued for Northern Ireland as heavy rain is on the way
Heavy rain will affect parts of Northern Ireland late Wednesday and early Thursday this week.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning from 7pm on Wednesday 6th Dec until 4am on Thursday 7th Dec.
20-30 mm of rain are expected to fall in some places, with possibly 40 to 60 mm over hills and perhaps 60-80 mm over the Mourne Mountains.
What to expect:
☔️ Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times by car and bus longer, with possible delays to rail services
☔️ Flooding of a few homes and businesses is possible

Today: Outbreaks of rain in the east across Counties Antrim and Down will die out by early afternoon. Dry further west with some bright or sunny spells across western parts. Maximum temperature 5 °C.
Tonight: A mainly dry evening and night, just a few showers across County Down. A few clear spells at first, mainly in the north. Otherwise cloudy. Southeast winds strengthening towards dawn. Minimum temperature -1 °C.
Wednesday: Outbreaks of rain spread north in the morning turning heavy at times across high ground, and more widely in the afternoon. Strong to gale force southeast winds. Maximum temperature 9 °C.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday: A very windy, unsettled period with gales and occasionally heavy rain. Drier on Friday. Then rain sweeps east on Saturday.
