Met Office issues yellow warning for heavy rain and thunderstorms

After almost a fortnight of wall to wall sunshine, a weather warning for rain has been issued for Northern Ireland.
According to the Met Office, thundery showers could bring localised flooding to parts of the the country during Friday and Saturday.
"An area of thunderstorms across southern England and Wales is expected to move northwestwards towards Northern Ireland. These are likely to bring torrential rain to some places with with the potential for 20-30mm to fall in an hour and perhaps as much as 60mm in a few hours. Frequent lightning and large hail are also possible."
The Met Office's weather warning comes into affect from 09:00 on Friday lasting through until 22:00.
"Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures."
"There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded or struck by lighting, causing damage to some buildings."
"Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services."
"There is a slight chance that flooding or lightning strikes could cause power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses."

Sunday - 🌤️ - Fewer showers. Very warm in the sunshine but mist may linger around coastal districts (20°C)
