Westeros has found its new permanent home in the heart of Co. Down!
Located at Linen Mill Studios in Banbridge, the Game of Thrones Studio Tour has officially opened the doors to the public today!
Filled with breathtaking imagery, captivating sets, original props and iconic costumes, you’ll be transported to Kings Landing and Winterfell in a heartbeat.
It doesn’t matter whether you are House Stark or Lannister, everyone is welcome. In fact, you don’t even need to have seen the show to admire just how special this was and still is for Northern Ireland’s film/tv industry.
Cool FM & Downtown Radio were granted exclusive access to the studios, and caught up with some of the actors involved.
Local legend Ian McElhinney played the role of Sir Barristan Selmy aka 'Barristan the bold'.
He opened up about his experience on the world-famous show and what it was like to film here in Northern Ireland.
"It's just the most extraordinary feeling to see all of this again, and to be reminded of it. People will be immersed in this world...for a lot of people this is going to be really special. It's going to be a huge go-to tourist attraction for people from all over the world.
"There's such a massive Game of Thrones fanbase, people have only ever seen everything on screen, now they truly be in it. I think people will be overwhelmed and will flock to it."
