Bombardier workers in Northern Ireland face job uncertainty in the mouth of Christmas, after the aerospace giant announced 5000 jobs will go globally.

Roles in the UK are expected to be among them but the manufacturer has not released any further details on where the redundancies will be made.

The Canadian company has a large aircraft facility in Belfast and employs 4000 workers across Northern Ireland.

Bombardier says the positions will go over the next year and a half and will save 145 million pounds by 2021.

A spokesperson said an announcement on any potential losses in Northern Ireland is expected in the coming weeks.
