A Ukrainian dancer who is currently based in Northern Ireland has created a moving dance video to raise vital funds for her homeland.

Ksenia Zsikhotska is a professional dancer who starred in the RTE show Dancing with the Stars.

The 32 year old moved to London with her mother when she was just six years old, but has many family and friends still in Ukraine.

She hopes the video will help raise funds to provide medical supplies that are much needed in her homeland.

Speaking to Downtown Radio & Cool FM, she says watching the overnight invasion was like a nightmare coming true.

"You have dreams that this could happen, but you never think it actually will in the modern world we live.

"Then just overnight, bang, everything madness, chaos. It's a surreal thing to wake up to."

Ksenia still has a lot of family who are currently in the west of Ukraine.

"My whole family is there, cousins, aunties, uncles. They are in the west at the moment in a remote village thankfully but you never know what is going to happen. They sleep with their bags by their side ready to flee."

You can donate by visiting the JustGiving website and searching for ‘Ksenia's No To War’ campaign which has raised over £2,000 already.
