Translink bus strike suspended after last ditch talks
The industrial action was set to start tomorrow and last for a week

Following “last ditch talks” with Translink and Union representative tomorrow’s industrial action has been suspended.
The Translink bus strike was due to start tomorrow (Tuesday) and would include drivers, cleaners and shunters across NI and last for seven days.
However, following talks representees from GMB Union has said as a “gesture of goodwill, industrial action has been suspended until workers have voted on the new offer.”
If the mass walk went ahead it was anticipated to 'bring Northern Ireland to a standstill' and was set to cause disruption to school transport.
However, following a revised pay offer from Translink the industrial action has been suspended while GMB and Unite members vote on the offer.
Peter Macklin, GMB Regional Organiser, said: “After last ditch talks, Translink workers now have a revised pay offer.
“As a gesture of goodwill, industrial action has been suspended until workers have voted on the new offer.
“If they accept it, the strikes would be cancelled completely.
"But if they turn it down, GMB will meet with members immediately to discuss new strike dates.”
