Tourists left 'devastated' after motorcycle burnt out

The German tourists where visiting Belfast on holiday when the incident happened.

German tourist visiting Belfast have been left devastated after their motorcycle was stolen in north Belfast.

Police say the vehicle was stolen from Clifton Park Avenue during the early hours of this morning, Tuesday 05 June.

It was reported that the BMW motorcycle and sidecar was stolen shortly before 1.45 am by two males.

It was later found burnt out in the vicinity of Victoria Parade.

Inspector David McBride said:

“This motorcycle was owned by two German tourists who were visiting Belfast on holiday. This was a custom built motorcycle that was their pride and joy and as can be expected they have been left devastated by the incident.

“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the theft or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact officers in Tennent Street on 101 quoting reference 93 05/06/18. Or, alternatively information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
