Three men have been charged by detectives probing the armed robbery of a delivery van in Dunmurry.

The men, aged 32, 31 and 28 are due before Lisburn Magistrates on Monday, January 9th accused of a number of offences.

The driver of the van was reportedly approached by three men in the Broom Park area at around 4 o'clock on Friday and ordered out of the vehicle.

A police spokesperson said: "The three men were described as being aged in their mid-twenties, with short hair and wearing dark tracksuits.

"A short time later, officers arrested three men, two aged in their thirties and one in his twenties, at a nearby property on suspicion of a number of offences. They remain in custody at this time.

"While there were no reports of any injuries, this was a terrifying ordeal for the driver who was simply trying to go about his business.
