Three charged with offences related to attempted murder of DCI John Caldwell
The senior PSNI detective was shot multiple times earlier this year
Detectives investigating the attempted murder of Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell in February have charged three men with terrorism offences.
The men, aged 45, 47 and 58, have been charged with preparatory acts of terrorism.
The 45-year-old man and the 58-year-old man have further been charged with possession of articles for use in terrorism, and providing property for the purposes of terrorism.
DCI Caldwell was shot multiple teams as he coached a youth football team in Omagh on February 22nd.
The men were arrested under the Terrorism Act in Newtownabbey, Coalisland and Belfast earlier today and all three are expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court tomorrow.
The number of people arrested for the attempted murder of the PSNI officer is now at 31 - a figure that incudes those who have been arrested more than once. ]
Seven men have already been remanded in custody after being charged with the attempted murder of DCI Caldwell.
