Storm Éowyn: Road closures & traffic updates across Northern Ireland

As Storm Eoywn approaches, reports of fallen trees and flooding are coming in. It is understood thousands of homes are without power - with winds expected to reach speeds of 100mph throughout the day.

The rare red weather warning will be in effect across Northern Ireland from 7am until 2pm today.

All Stenaline and P&O ferries to Cairnryan are cancelled.

Belfast - Bangor Road closed at Devils Elbow due to fallen tree

Half the road is blocked in the direction of Junction One at Stiles Way

Hillhall Road, Lisburn is closed completely due to multiple fallen trees and power cables

Areema Drive, Dunmurry - road half obstructed

In the Northwest the Foyle Bridge has now been closed due to the increasing high winds.

Maghera - One lane is closed on the A6 in both directions at Fallaghloon Road

Collapsed wall rendering Northland Crescent street impassable

The inner lane on the Glenshane Road, Maghera is blocked by large fallen tree (past Oakleaf Services)

Bangor - Belfast Road westbound is partially blocked, slow traffic due to fallen tree at Rathgael Road

Large fallen trees are blocking the A24 Church Rd Ballynahinch between the Carlisle Park and Spa Rd junctions, and the A24 Belfast Rd Ballynahinch just to the Belfast side of the Old Belfast Rd junction
