Security alert near Palace Barracks over

Police say an object found during a security alert in Holwood was 'nothing untoward.'

A section of the Old Holywood Road near the Palace Barracks was closed to traffic just before 10am on Saturday.

Motorists were advised to seek alternative routes and a number of homes were evacuated before the alert ended just after 1100..

A number of army units are based at the barracks, including The Royal Scots.

It also hosts MI5's headquarters in Northern Ireland.
