Republican plot vandalised in Newry cemetery
A republican plot has been vandalised in a Newry cemetery.
The plot in St Mary's Cemetery was spray painted with red graffiti sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning.
Sinn Fein MP Mickey Brady described it as an "outrageous attack".
"The Republican Plot in Newry was desecrated last night," he said.
"All graveyards are sacred places and should be respected.
"This attack is outrageous and does nothing other than cause distress to families whose loved ones are buried in the plot".
Police are working to establish a motive for the incident and have appealed for information.
