PSNI reveals Covid-19 penalty tallies
47 people have been slammed with a £1,000 fine for failing to self-isolate properly.
The latest figures disclosed by the PSNI show almost 50 people have received a fine with a tariff of £1,000 for breaking covid quarantine rules.
Officers have also handed out 1,775 penalty notices, which can cost a minimum of £60, but rise if offending is repeated.
449 so-called ‘prohibition notices’ have been issued – these are for either licensed businesses, or homes having parties.
82 of those went to commercial premises, while 362 were private households in breach of rules around gatherings.

Statistics also showed how many PSNI employees are currently off work because of covid-19. There are currently 652 officers or members of staff who are absent because of coronavirus, and 570 of them self-isolating.
