Sources have told Downtown Radio/Cool FM news that the violent, long-running gangland fallout could be making some impact on Northern Ireland.

Cars with duplicate license plates have reportedly been spotted in border areas, with our sources indicating those may belong to some of the Dublin gangs.

Those plates are often copied from cars being put up for sale legitimately.

The Deputy Chief Constable, Stephen Martin, said police are working to keep an eye on the situation.

"We don't see it coming up into Northern Ireland in any wholesale way," said DCC Martin.

"But any of that feud reaching into Northern Ireland would of course be a concern.

"I'm not going to share any intelligence we have, or educate the criminals, but I would reassure people the overwhelming bulk of that feud exists within the Republic of Ireland.

"We're working very closely with our partners in the Republic of Ireland and sharing any information or assistance that we need to do."

It is also believed that some drugs are being filtered through on a small level to the market here, coming from Dublin.
