A convicted murder has been found after absconding from custody in Northern Ireland.
David McCord was rearrested by the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) after going on the run on Friday (August 16th).
McCord was given a life sentence in 2004 after he was convicted of the murder of 26-year-old Nichola Dickson.
He was on licence for the murder, and had served 20 years of his sentence when he escaped from the prison.
The 54-year old was in the custody of prison staff in the Crumlin Road area of north Belfast when he left the property and went missing.
Following this, the PSNI released an appeal for information in helping to track the fugitive down and bring him back into custody.
The force urged the public not to approach him, as McCord was "unlawfully at large", before appealing to McCord to turn himself back in.
On Sunday (August 18th), he was found in the area of the Northern Irish capital following appeals from the police - and was returned to prison.
